SMS Consent & Messaging Disclosure

Exactly how SMS messaging works through Cancel Catch — who receives texts, how they opted in, what the messages look like, and how to stop them at any time.

Last updated April 24, 2026

Cancel Catch sends SMS messages on behalf of independent med spas in the United States. Every message is appointment-related, every recipient has explicitly opted in through the spa where they are already a customer, and every message includes clear opt-out instructions. This page documents the program end to end.

About Cancel Catch

Cancel Catch is an AI-powered cancellation recovery service for independent med spas. When a med spa partner has a last-minute appointment opening, our service identifies the best-fit clients from that spa's existing customer database — based on treatment history, provider preference, and booking patterns — and sends a single SMS offering the open slot. This is not a waitlist tool, it is not marketing, and it is not promotional outreach. The only purpose of every message is to fill a specific cancellation with the right existing client.

Cancel Catch is operated from Denver, Colorado. Our partner spas are independently owned and operated — Cancel Catch acts as their messaging provider under a written services agreement and, where applicable, a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement.

Messages are sent from a phone number associated with Cancel Catch but identify the partner spa by name in every message, since the client's existing relationship is with the spa, not with Cancel Catch directly. This ensures clients immediately recognize the sender as their med spa rather than an unknown service.

Who Receives Messages

Messages are sent only to existing clients of partner med spas who have a prior business relationship with that spa and who have explicitly opted in to receive appointment-related communications. Cancel Catch does not message:

  • Anyone who is not an existing client of a partner spa.
  • Anyone who has not affirmatively opted in to SMS communications at the spa.
  • Anyone who has previously replied STOP — opt-outs are honored permanently.
  • Phone numbers obtained through purchased lists, scraped sources, or any third party other than the partner spa itself.

How Clients Opt In

Consent is collected by the partner med spa at the point clients provide their mobile number — typically during intake paperwork or at the time of their first booking. Clients are presented with clear, conspicuous disclosure language and must affirmatively agree before their number is added to the program.

Where
On the partner spa's intake form (paper or digital) or booking confirmation, with separate, unchecked consent for SMS distinct from any other agreement.
What clients agree to
To receive appointment-related SMS messages from the spa — including notifications about open cancellation slots that may be a fit — sent through Cancel Catch as the spa's messaging provider.
What clients see
Plain-language disclosure of the program purpose, frequency, opt-out instructions ("Reply STOP to unsubscribe"), help instructions ("Reply HELP for help"), and a notice that message and data rates may apply.
Required to do business?
No. Consent to SMS is never a condition of receiving services from the spa. Clients may decline and continue booking normally.
Records
Each spa retains the original signed or electronic consent record. Cancel Catch maintains the corresponding opt-in metadata in our database.

Sample disclosure shown at point of opt-in

I agree to receive SMS messages from [Spa Name] about appointment availability, sent through Cancel Catch as their messaging provider. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time. Reply HELP for assistance. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of any purchase or booking. For full details, see cancelcatch.com/sms-consent.

Clients see this disclosure as a separate, unchecked consent during intake. Consent is captured affirmatively — never bundled with other agreements or pre-checked.

Clients may revoke consent at any time by replying STOP to any message or by asking the spa to remove them from SMS — see How to Opt Out below.

What Messages Look Like

Every SMS sent through Cancel Catch follows the same pattern: it identifies the partner spa by name, describes a specific open appointment slot, asks the client to reply to claim it, and includes opt-out instructions. Below are representative examples of the messages a client may receive.

Sample messages

  • Hi Sarah — this is Glow Aesthetics. We just had a 2:30pm opening today for Botox with Dr. Mehta. Want it? Reply YES to claim. Reply STOP to unsubscribe.

Cancellation match — same provider, treatment client has booked before.

  • Hi Jessica — Lumen Medspa here. A 4pm hydrafacial just opened tomorrow with Casey. You're due for one — want to grab it? Reply YES to take it. Reply STOP to unsubscribe.

Cancellation match — based on prior booking cadence and provider preference.

  • Hi Maria — Refine Aesthetics. Your filler appointment is still on for Friday at 11am, but we just had a 5:30pm slot open today if you'd rather come in sooner. Reply YES to switch. Reply STOP to unsubscribe.

Earlier-slot offer for a client already on the books later in the week.

Clients never receive marketing, promotions, surveys, fundraising, political content, or messages about anything other than open appointments at the spa where they are already a customer.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies and depends entirely on whether and when cancellations occur at the partner spa. There is no fixed schedule and no recurring broadcast. In practice, most clients receive at most a few messages per month, and many go weeks without any messages at all. A client is only contacted when:

  • A specific appointment slot has opened at their spa, and
  • Our matching engine determines they are a strong fit based on treatment history, provider, and timing, and
  • They have not already been offered the same slot, and
  • They have not opted out.

For any single open slot, only a small, targeted set of clients is contacted — never the spa's entire client list.

How to Opt Out

Opting out is immediate, free, and permanent.

Reply STOP
Reply STOP — or any common variant including STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT — to any message. The number is added to our opt-out list immediately and will not receive further messages from Cancel Catch on behalf of any partner spa.
Confirmation
After STOP is received, one final confirmation message is sent acknowledging the opt-out. No further messages will follow.
Through the spa
Clients can also ask the partner spa directly to remove them from SMS communications. The spa will notify Cancel Catch and the number will be added to the opt-out list.
Re-subscribing
Clients who opt out and later want to receive messages again must explicitly re-consent through the spa. We will not message a previously opted-out number based on prior consent.

Every outbound message includes "Reply STOP to unsubscribe" (or substantively equivalent language) so the option is always available, in every message, with no exceptions.
